Granada Hills Street Faire 2026 and October on Chatsworth

Four of the five October events on the Granada Hills calendar this month happen on Chatsworth Street. The Friday market sets up at Chatsworth and White Oak. The 22nd Annual Granada Hills Street Faire closes Chatsworth from Zelzah to Encino on Saturday, October 17. The Rotary Oktoberfest pours at Chatsworth and Shoshone that same afternoon. And the month's free park Halloween takes place at 16730 Chatsworth on October 30. The only one that leaves the street is a trunk or treat on Balboa Boulevard.

So planning the rest of October in the 91344 doesn't take a list of separate destinations. It mostly means knowing which stretch of Chatsworth is busy on which day.

Fridays already put people on this street

The weekly routine comes first, because the bigger October events build on it. The Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce describes the Granada Hills Certified Farmers Market as a Friday evening market, 6 to 10 p.m., at Chatsworth Street and White Oak Avenue, running alongside the Granada Grubfest. The Daily News calendar for Oct. 8 to 16 gives more detail on the layout. It puts the certified market on White Oak Avenue between Chatsworth and Los Alimos streets from 6 to 10 p.m., and Grubfest on Chatsworth between Zelzah and White Oak from 5 to 10 p.m.

That Grubfest stretch starts at Zelzah Avenue, the same corner where the Street Faire closure begins. On Friday, October 16, the food trucks and the market fill the west end of the business district. Less than a day later the Street Faire takes over that corner too and runs east to Encino. The Chamber's listings show farmers market vendor registration for October 16, 23 and 30, so all three remaining Fridays this month are on the schedule.

We covered the Friday market and the city's park work in an earlier piece, Granada Hills Isn't Building Anything New This Year. October is when that weekly routine grows into something larger.

October 17: the street closes and the faire takes over

The Chamber lists the 22nd Annual Granada Hills Street Faire for Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., centered at 17723 Chatsworth Street. Chatsworth closes between Zelzah Avenue and Encino Avenue.

Admission is free. Kidsguide's 2026 preview lists more than 250 vendors, live entertainment, a car show, a farmers market, a Kids Corner, food, shopping, a beer garden and the Citizen of the Year presentation. The vendor count has grown. In 2024, the student paper The Plaid Press reported more than 200 vendors at what was then the 20th annual faire. Going from 200-plus to 250-plus in two years means roughly 50 more booths on the same stretch of pavement.

Crowd estimates for past years vary by source. The Plaid Press put attendance at more than 25,000 a year in its 2024 report. ABC7's 2025 preview said the previous year drew more than 35,000. Either way, it's a big crowd for a single closed street.

The car show inside the faire

The 2026 Granada Hills Custom & Classics Car Show takes place during the faire. The Chamber's listing says all cars are welcome. Entry is $30 presale and $35 at the regular rate, and owners are asked to describe their car in the registration comments at checkout. If you're just walking the faire, you can see the cars for free.

Oktoberfest at Chatsworth and Shoshone

The faire hosts a smaller event with its own hours. The Granada Hills Rotary Foundation's Oktoberfest craft beer and wine tasting runs from noon to 4 p.m. on October 17. Here's what Rotary lists:

  • Price: $30 per person on the Rotary site. The online ticketing page displayed $32.24.
  • Included: 10 samples of local craft beer and wine
  • Program: a stein-holding contest with prizes, food vendors and music by DJ Danse Forte Entertainment
  • Location: the Oktoberfest booth at Chatsworth and Shoshone, in front of Frosty Queen
  • Proceeds: charities supported by the Granada Hills Rotary Foundation

The tasting ends at 4 p.m., and the faire is still open afterward. The listed closing times don't match, though. The Chamber and Kidsguide both say 6 p.m., while the Rotary Oktoberfest page gives the faire's hours as 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What isn't posted yet

As of October 10, neither the Chamber listing nor the 2026 preview includes a parking or shuttle plan, a named music lineup or a food vendor roster. The Chamber accepts questions by text at (747) 767-1413. Checking with the Chamber close to the date is the most reliable way to plan.

October 24: Balboa Boulevard, the one stop off Chatsworth

The Sick Em Trunk or Treat is listed for Saturday, October 24, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Caruso's Italian Kitchen, 10152 Balboa Blvd. It's free. The SFV Local listing describes decorated cars, candy, vendors and awards, and says Angelinos of Hope will have children's costumes on hand.

The decorated-car format echoes the car show from a week earlier. This time the cars are dressed up for Halloween and the evening is aimed at kids. For a family that skipped the faire crowds, it's the first Halloween event of the month and it's in the evening.

October 30: Petit Park and the Friday market on the same night

The month ends back on Chatsworth. The City of Los Angeles 2026 Halloween activities list includes a free, all-ages event at Granada Hills Recreation Center, 16730 Chatsworth St., on October 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. This year's theme is Super Villains, with games, arts and crafts, contests, jumpers, music and refreshments. Many people know the center as Petit Park. The Recreation and Parks facility page lists its number as (818) 363-3556.

October 30 is a Friday, so the Halloween event's hours overlap with the farmers market's 6 to 10 p.m. hours at Chatsworth and White Oak, which has vendor registration posted for that date. The park event wraps up at 8, and the market keeps going for two more hours a short way along the same street.
